Wider Horizons School wants all students to become proficient speakers. To accomplish this goal, students begin in preschool to speak in front of their class. Show and tell has young children explaining something to their classmates.
As the students move up in the grades there are three academic fairs each year where they present a historical biography, a science project or tell about a country of their choice. The upper classes stage debates and frequent oral presentations for the class where students receive lots of practice speaking.
All grades at WHS practice public speaking. We have fairs throughout the year, younger grades do show and tell.
